Emission Free Alternative to Fluid Bed Cooling

We are currently living in a world where technology became synonymous to development and productivity. In the business world for instance, technology became the developmental tool to improve the quantity and the quality of the products and the services being offered to the market. Technological breakthroughs which lead to myriad developments happened in almost all aspects of human life particularly in terms of business and finance.

The modern technology had also revolutionized various business processes for efficient and high quality result. The bulk industry, in particular, had also undergone major developments that leads to overwhelming changes in terms of processes and quality result. With the aid of technology, the industry became more responsive and productive in meeting new challenges and demands in bulk solids processing and handling.

If we are going to look back a few years a go, we would surely see how the bulk industry had struggle in providing high quality bulk products despite the unavailability of ultra efficient and innovative processing technologies like of what we had today. Most of the traditional methods does provide quality results and in fact they even poses several problems and process issues.

One of these traditional methods that have been widely used by most industrial companies engaged in bulk solids processing is the fluid bed processing technology. This processing technology works by allowing the air to pass through the perforated distributor plate and across the layers of solids. The air flows or move in a rate enough to carry the particles. The air performs two important functions in fluid bed cooling technology. First, it creates a fluidized state enabling the materials to flow. Secondly, it serves as the heat exchange medium that add and remove heat from the process.

The fluid bed processing technology is entirely air dependent. It only uses air to cool, dry and heat the bulk solids materials like polymers, grains, bulk powders, sugars and biosolids. Furthermore, it uses large horsepowers fans to take in volumes of air which will be use to directly cool the bulk materials. In some cases, the air must be chilled first before using it in order to achieved the require cooling temperature. The expense involve in the processing, chilling and cleaning of the air is very high that’s why this processing technology have higher energy requirements compared to other processing methods.

But today, there are already better alternatives to fluid bed cooling. The modern technology had paved the way in creating these highly efficient alternatives that ensure superior quality bulk products and at the same time energy efficient. Most of all these alternatives are proven to be emission free and planet friendly.
